Brutus is Coming - A Change to Anti-Federalist Fridays

My coverage of the Anti-Federalist Papers is about to begin a deep dive, starting with Brutus.

Anti-Federalist Fridays

Longtime readers of Founder of the Day will know that every Friday between the autumn of 2018 and spring of 2020 I published an article covering one of the Federalist Papers...Federalist Fridays.

Since then, I have been completing articles about Anti-Federalists...Anti-Federalist Fridays.

While I covered the 85 Federalist Papers in order, I have been jumping around from Anti-Federalist to Anti-Federalist.

Why The Change

This made sense at the beginning. The Federalist Papers were a coherent series of essays written by the same group of men and published under one pen name. Meanwhile, the Anti-Federalists were many separate people publishing throughout the United States in a very disorganized manner.

However, there are two flaws in my system.

First, it leaves out all of the writings by Federals authors who were not part of the Hamilton/Madison/Jay team publishing under Publius.

Second, it squeezes into one article an Anti-Federalist who may have taken the time to write several essays.

What To Expect

Therefore, starting next Friday, we will be reviewing the Anti-Federalist Papers themselves as opposed to the authors specifically.

We will begin with the Essays of Brutus, arguably the most important of the Anti-Federalist publications.

These sixteen articles were seen throughout the United States and on several occasions specifically referenced by other Anti-Federalist writers.

I hope you understand the change and are as excited as I am to do a deep dive on what certain Founders disliked about the Constitution.

This series is only part of my regular publications, but…
