Whelp, we did it.
The last Federalist Paper.
I started reviewing one Paper a week back in October of 2018. Here we are in June 2020 and the idea of completing this process is surreal.
For those of you who have been reading along...THANK YOU!
I’m currently debating what to do next. Should I start from Federalist #1 and go through again? I’m sure I would do an even better job the second time.
Or, should I do a run of Anti-Federalist Papers?
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
The Final Federalist
As for Federalist #85, there is not a whole lot to report.
Alexander Hamilton says that there are still some questions out there, but considering New York had ratified the Constitution a month earlier there was not a great deal of reason for him to go into those topics.
Hamilton acknowledges that the Constitution is not perfect. In fact, he admits that he would be suspicious of any document that was.
He further acknowledges that there are several items which were (mistakenly) omitted.
But he points out that the new Government can be amended.
Amendments, he believed, would be easier to pass than an entire Constitution because they are only done one at a time.
