Announcement: The Big Little Change Coming to Founder of the Day
I’ve decided to make a major change to Founder of the Day. This is a letter to my regular readers describing the change and my reasons for it.
Five Days a Week
Hi Founders Fans,
I’m taking a break from the American Revolution to make a brief announcement regarding Founder of the Day.
I have decided to begin publishing new articles just five days a week (Monday through Friday) instead of every day.
Before I explain why this decision has been made, I want to make it clear that there will still be a Founder of the Day everyday. I will use a previous article to send out on social media and to my email subscribers.
Don’t be too concerned about receiving an article you’ve already read, in less than two years I’ve published almost 700. That’s a lot of Founders to be reminded about.
But, Why?
There are several reasons I am preparing to make this change.
First, as stated earlier, 700 articles in two years is a whole lot.
This, in itself, has two setbacks.
For starters, it consumes a whole lot of time...which means I fall behind on things like updating the website and, frankly, reading new books.
Additionally, I find myself getting burned out.
While I truly enjoy taking time every day to study and write about the Founders, the fact that I really have to write at least one article every day of the week has recently made some of my work feel forced.
If it was just me feeling tired, I would deal with it. Unfortunately, there have been a handful of articles that I’ve published recently that could have been more entertaining stories if I just had even half an hour more to put into it.
What Will I Do With The Free Time?
Another reason I have decided to free up my weekends is so that I can pursue several other projects that I think you might enjoy.
I may be working on a book (wink wink), which has been a lifelong dream of mine and a major reason I started Founder of the Day.
Furthermore, I’ve mentioned before that I have been working on a card game featuring the Founders and finding the time to test play it is necessary.
Trust
Truthfully, had I simply made this change and not brought it up, most of you probably wouldn't have noticed.
However, I like to think I’ve established a certain amount of trust with my regular readers and I thought the best course of action was to be upfront and honest.
I understand that you expect a new Founder everyday and the last thing I want to do is let you down.
Hopefully, going into the archive for the Founder of the Day during the weekends is a change you can live with.
Your obedient and humble servant,
Jason
If you’ve read this far, you are most likely a Founder of the Day regular.
In that case, I’d just like to say…
THANK YOU!!!
Most of the feedback I’ve received in the last two years has been overwhelmingly positive and it’s been really wonderful spending time with you in this tiny corner of the internet.
As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns feel free to contact me.
If you have any interest in helping me grow Founder of the Day, please consider become a Patreon Supporter. At this point, the little money that Founder of the Day brings in I invest right back into it by doing a little advertising on social media.
